When will the HTC Dream specs be revealed?

When new phones come into play, how soon "usually" are the specs revealed?

I know that the FCC can approve a phone, and one month later, it's all manufactured, shipped, and in the stores. So, when should we start looking for specs? Aka, when can I stop looking online every 3 minutes to see if HTC/Google released anything about HTC?
