Sync Adapter for folder syncing

Postby mca_shail » Tue Dec 27, 2011 9:43 am

Hi,

I need one infomation, Can i use sync adapter for file/folder syncing from Android device.
I am not able to figure how to do it.

Overview of my application--

I am developing an android application which can sync file like images on android device with the server images.

I would like to know which is the better way to implement this and how.
1. Using sync adapter
2. Writing our own service which can implement sync logic and look for file or images changes on the server and as well as on the device.

For local file changes im using FileObserver and for server changes recording file Timestamp and hash.

I know how to built logic for the option 2 but im not aware for how to implement using sync adapter as we dont have web application running on server, it just a Restful web service which has some API to upload and download images.

Is my appraoch is correct or should i follow sync apapter pattern if yes then please guide me.

Pl reply ASAP.
