Samsung's Galaxy Nexus joins Sprint's LTE party on April 22n

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Nexus is finally making its way to Sprint.

Sprint’s version of the phone, which is nearly identical to Verizon’s own, was made official back in January. But it’s only today that Sprint has gotten around to announcing a release date and price point: Available April 22nd, the device will run for $199 with a two-year contract.

Sprint is attempting to entice consumers by giving buyers $40 in Google Wallet cash. This is in addition to the $10 that Google already gives users. That’s a lot of free money. free iphone games

The biggest deal, of course, is that the Galaxy Nexus is Sprint’s latest LTE phone. As discussed extensively previously, Sprint’s in a bit of a bind, LTE-wise. Faced with a bona fide chicken-and-egg problem over its fledging (read: non-existent) LTE network, the company is essentially announcing devices with the promise that they will, one day, run with LTE speeds. Joining the LG Viper and HTC EVO 4G LTE, the Galaxy Nexus is set to be a part of a formidable LTE portfolio. Eventually.

The device drops on April 22nd, the same day as the Viper and a few weeks before the EVO 4G LTE’s May 7th release date.
