Resuming activities

Postby s.semeria » Thu Apr 03, 2008 5:07 pm

Is it possible to resume a background activity using an intent?

When I register a notification in the status bar and clicked on it an Activity is fired, but it's always a new one... I would need a way to reuse one in background

Please help.

Thanks a lot.

Thats why all the OnCreate / OnFreeze / OnPause - callbacks exist. :)

Some can take/fill a bundle, which will save/restore your app in the specific callback.

Resuming activities

Postby s.semeria » Wed Apr 16, 2008 9:27 am

Uhm..

actually, my problem is the following: I have multiple activities at the same time (each of them is a different instance of the same class) and each one is an IM conversation ongoing.
When a new message arrives belonging to a not visible conversation a notification is added on the status bar.
I would like to be able to restore (meaning put it in foreground) the activity which the message refers to when the user clicks on that notification.

Do you think is it possible?

Regards
