Proxy for WiFi connection on Android

Postby Darrarski » Fri Jul 31, 2009 9:29 pm

I have a question about setting Android to use a proxy server when connected to WiFi. There is no UI for configuring WiFi proxy in Android 1.5 Cupcake. I've already read some information about this issue, and I'm confused. Could someone explain me if this is a bug, or just Android platform doesn't support WiFi connections with proxy at the moment? If so, I wonder if it depends on Google to provide WiFi-proxy support or maybe developers community can provide a solution or workaround for this issue? I didn't find any informations about some developers working on it, if this means that I can forget about using a proxy on Android at the moment?
Please, forgive me my lack of knowledge, I've just bought a phone with Android and used to use proxy a lot when connected to corporate networks.
