Programming Android in ARM Assembler ?

Postby Kuemmel » Sat Jul 31, 2010 3:56 pm

Hi people,

I used to program a lot in assembler for old ARM CPU based Acorn Computers. Now I'm considering to buy some Android based Netbook or a Smartphone with an ARM CPU.

So the question is if there is any possibility to program Android applications in assembler (could be also of course C or Java with an inline assembler function, I don't expect any native assemblers,or ?) ? If yes, which DevKit / Compiler offers that ? Any code examples for that ?

Cheers,

Michael

Don't be fooled, I'm no expert on this matter but perhaps you can find something useful in my ramblings!
I know that you can get programs from other languages to run via JNI (Java Native Interface). Look into it. Perhaps you'll find what you're looking for.

Best of luck!
