problem with android command

Postby savignien » Thu Oct 29, 2009 2:14 pm

Hello,

I'd like to install the 1.6 platform. This page : http://developer.android.com/sdk/adding-components.html says to fire the android from the command line, and that it launches a GUI. But for me it only says "Missing verb" and gives me the help. No GUI pops up.
I work under linux, android sdk is 1.5r3 (as far as I can tell, it's the latest available).

So is there an alternate way to install the 1.6 platform, or am I doing something wrong ?

savi.

Well it seems that the sdk has changed behind my back...
I had a full sdk from a file android-sdk-linux_x86-1.5_r3.zip (approx 180Mb) and the latest one is
android-sdk_r3-linux.tgz which is a mere 15Mb. The latter contains an "android" command that actually pops up a GUI.

The names are quite confusing... but it should work now.
Sorry for the noise.
