Screen resolution: run the emulator or read the documentation, we have QVGA and HVGA both in portrait and landscape modes
Heap will vary from device to device just like J2ME

I am curious, do you know of any devices under dev that will have infrared?
I think the next gen infrared from IrDA is rather cool because they can beam an 8mb video in under 3 seconds! Also, higher speeds up to 16mbps is also available with gigabit speeds in dev.

That will make true peer-to-peer sharing a reality wirelessly!
