Meeting Scheduler

Postby anish » Fri Feb 22, 2008 9:27 am

Hi all

I am developing application of Meeting Scheduler similar to iPhone, where user can tap date on the calendar and fix a schedule. I am new to Android, any help in this regard will be warmly welcome.

Thanks and regards

Meeting Scheduler

Postby anish » Sat Feb 23, 2008 5:29 am

hi Plusminus
its been wonderful to listen from you.
to get started on the scheduler problem i have few questions on that...

1. how can I launch Date picker by clicking a Contact on the Contact List.
2. Once Calendar is active i can pickup a date and schedule a meeting.
3. I should get notification before one hour from the start of meeting.

Its a mashup of application I am investing.

Thanks and regards

Hello anish,

1. Getting all the contacts from your device: http://www.anddev.org/viewtopic.php?t=12
2. make your Activity extend ListActivity and override onListItemClick(...). For DatePicking:
Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using java Syntax Highlighting
  1.                 new DatePickerDialog(MyActivity.this,
  2.
  3.                         new DateSetListener(){
  4.
  5.                                 public void dateSet(DatePicker view, int year, int monthOfYear,
  6.
  7.                                        int dayOfMonth) {
  8.
  9.                                        // i.e.: Insert meeting to db ...
  10.
  11.
  12.
  13.                                  }
  14.
  15.                         },
  16.
  17.                         mYear, mMonth, mDay, Calendar.MONDAY).show();
Parsed in 0.033 seconds, using GeSHi 1.0.8.4

3. Have a look at the AlarmManager

Meeting Scheduler

Postby anish » Mon Feb 25, 2008 10:53 am

Hi +-

Thanks :) for your code snippet. It really gave me the required information for the project.

I have two questions -

1. How can I exploit the application capability, i.e. how can I reuse the Contacts in my code and modify the original Contacts where i can add customized menu to it.

2. How can I register a component where one application can talk with other application and share information among application.

Thanks and regards
