how to read data in to android from the external server

hello every one :D
me want to read lattitude and longitude points from a server which gets it from gps device
i am able to set up my mock location provider for tht ........ with help which ull provided :D
i provide data to my location provider through an NMEA file stored in /data/misc/location/gps :)
now i want to fetch data from the server through android and use it in my location provider........
does i have to do some socket programming for that..... :?: which iam little weak :oops:

so plz if ull have an idea how to go abt it plz help me

Hello zombi,

call specific Server-URL, which returns the Data i.e. as XML. Then parse it usign a SaxHandler (you find the tut here on anddev).
