How to hide an app from the application list ???

HI all,

First of all what a wonderfull forum for Android coders

I red most of the tuts on this forum and i found a very usefull one to get an android application to start after boot sequence is complete.

Now my question is: Is there a way to have an application start after boot sequence and not show in the application menu ( i am developping a security related application and for security reasons it as to be as stealthy as possible) i would really appreciate any help on that subject

Hello SatanS,

Applications do only appear in the Application-list, when you define the following Action and Category in your AndroidManifest.xml:

Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]

Using xml Syntax Highlighting

     ...
 
        <activity android:name=".RouteSample" android:label="@string/app_name">
 
            <intent-filter>
 
                <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
 
                <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
 
            </intent-filter>
 
        </activity>
 
     ...
Parsed in 0.001 seconds,  using GeSHi 1.0.8.4
