Google Data API's

Postby schtief » Fri Aug 29, 2008 2:17 pm

Hi,

Just a short question, are the Google Data API's for example the Google Documents List Data API and also the Google Spreadsheets API? Is it builtin or do i have to add some jars? Are there any Examples for Google Documents on Android?

Its not inside of AndroidSDK and I have not yet seen any example of doing so.
At least I can say that you can query probably any API via Http/URL-Call, like I have done it with the DrivingDirections API.

ok thanx, but you think i could extract the used classes of the google data api [1] and bundle them with my application?

btw. it would be a nice project to port the google data apis to android

update:

someone asked this in the gdata group

http://groups.google.com/group/google-h ... b8bab9bf8d

some discussions from the android group

http://groups.google.com/group/android- ... e6b836f2c7
http://groups.google.com/group/android- ... 65f3012326?

saying mostly the same, "built it yourself with httpclient and a feedparser"

no problem but PITA ;-(

crazy i found something undocument. There is definitely a GData Client API built in Android

look here:

http://davanum.wordpress.com/2007/12/05 ... -calendar/

the whole code here
http://code.google.com/p/androidlbs/sou ... .java?r=21

or try the searching google for the package

com.google.wireless.gdata

i think that will be the basis for the google aps builtin in android (Calendar, Docs...)
