google checkout alternatives

Postby dutch85 » Mon Nov 08, 2010 2:50 pm

google checkout sucks, they closed my account for reasons I am unaware of and they will not share with me why, due to security purposes wtf. So is anyone aware of a merchant service and/or method i can use to sell apps that does not use google checkout?

thanks

it wasn't anything great just a roulette style app. It took me about 2-3 months to make my 25 dollars back then they closed my checkout account.

Ah do you mean google market alternatives, not google checkout?

Try the 'Orange Market' www.orange.co.uk you'll have to email them to start with but in a few weeks they will be launching there website model

or try

http://www.appstorehq.com

or

http://andspot.com/

or

http://www.androidtapp.com/

or

http://slideme.org/

You might want to look at the network operators there all attempting to bring out an appstore (like orange) and another reource is : http://www.wipconnector.com/appstores

well i can still use my google market/dev account and i can distribute free apps but because the google checkout is the only way to receive payments in the google markets i was hoping to find a method to distribute paid apps while remaining in the google market. Do you know what payment methods these other markets use and what is the popularity like for these other markets. I can't say i've ever met any one who used anything other than the google market.

thanks

I've used slideme.org they do paid app's quite well

You can always make PayPal versions of your app's i.e. free on the market but you pay for functionality within the app (see my first post) there are also other vendor's who have this capability but I can't think of their names right now!

Feel free to review http://www.singleclickcheckout.com. They offer a single-click checkout solution for in-application credit card payments.

does anyone of you know what percentage is kept by the Market provider?
I mean, Google keeps 30%, I'm using AndroidPIT and they also keep 30%... Does SlideME do this?

And: what about PayPal, do they keep a certain percentage? is there any good tutorial you have found to implement in-app-purchases via PayPal?

And my last one^^: I guess the new Android Market in-app-purchase system also keeps 30% of the money?

not sure on Paypal.

But i'd say they will all be redundant once the new google inapp purchasing api is released, and yes this will be 30%

I don#t think so, not all developers are going to use it and who says that other platforms could not come up with an in app solution?
But is there no market that takes less than 30%?
that's really a pity, there could be real competition. If I had a market, I would lower the percentage in order to offer cheaper apps and have my developers advertise my market...
