try an really well known City first, like "Germany,Berlin" or sth. similar.

Principally the :src: Google Weather API(Tutorial) returns the Lat/Long of the City asked for. But unfortunately the lat/long-Tags are always empty. Sounds like BETA .
Example: http://www.google.com/ig/api?weather=New%20York,%20USA
