How do apps (like gas station applications) constantly have the current gas prices? Is there some API or web site that developers connect to make get updates? I doubt the gas prices get updated manually.

I was looking at gasbuddy.com but all those prices are user-submitted. I'm interested in developing something like this for the g1.
