Free Options For Testing My Web Service?

Postby JimBadger » Sat Jul 17, 2010 12:10 am

Hello there!

(I've massively edited the inital content of this post, including the title, as I've utterly changed my mind about what I was doing).

I've written a simple "hello world" REST web service, and want to test it out using my equally simple Android client app.

But, short of getting some web hosting (and I can't find any free hosting solutions offering Tomcat 6 and MySQL), is there any way to do this?

I have my web service exported in a .war file, ready to deploy to...wherever...and my Android .apk is on my phone and my emulator...there must (that's hope talking) be a free way to carry out such a simple test?

Yours,
Puzzled

:)

Why don't you just install tomcat and deploy it locally? Eclipse for Java EE even has an embeded tomcat.
