Anyone has any idea on how to download text/binary files from and ftp/http site, do some light processing on the downloaded files, then display the results, which can be either images or text, on the screen. Thanks in advance.

For http protocols, the example works fines, but for ftp sites, it does not work. I was wondering if there is ftpClient or equivalent under Android. I searched I did not find any. Thanks.

Just code-snippet on how to connect to an ftp site and download whatever they have text/binary files. I could not find anything about ftp protocols in the documentation. May be I am missing something.

just because we cannot see anything, doesn't mean that it is not possible.
I searched the Android-Google-Groups and unfortunately found nothing on it.

So if someone wants to was writing a android-ftp-library and release it under an Open License would be fine

Has anything been created for uploading a file from android phone to a FTP site? I know of AndFTP but am looking for some code which does what AndFTP does i.e. upload a file.
