I'm an experienced C/C++ developer who has fiddled around with C# a bit. I'm really interested in doing some coding for Android, and I've been reading the starter material on this forum and on Google's site. However, I don't know much about the Java language, and would appreciate any recommendations from this community on the subject. I'd like to avoid books that would spend tons of time teaching me how to write for loops and basic 101 programming stuff common to all languages, and instead get to the meat of how types and objects work, rules for inheritance, etc. Can anyone recommend a good book that would get me up to speed on Java quickly?
