I'm just wondering who many apps have been released for Android? How many companies are developing applications? Ist there any good source where you can find out a lot of numbers all apout Android and its development?

According to Android Zoom, there are 37,368 apps and 5759 games currently on the market.

The average number of apps for 10 developers picked randomly amounted to 52 apps by developers (some developers had very high numbers of apps, like 150+, while others had a few only) so that would give you about 830 active developers.

I am especially intereseted in the state of the art conscerning the company market. How many conmpanies are developing applications commercially? Who are the leaders?
