Android push notification service for devs?

Postby kitron » Wed Jun 11, 2008 10:05 pm

Does Android / Google have something like the "iPhone push notification service" http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/09/ipho ... announced/
or I need to create my own service that will run in the background and listens for incoming messages?

I am looking for the cleanest way to get a message into the phone

Thanks

Free Push Notification Service for Android

Postby jschiffman » Thu Mar 18, 2010 3:10 am

Xtify has opened our push notification webservice so that you can push messages directly to your mobile users for free (no catch).

The Xtify push notification service uses the same SDK and offers the same benefits of the geo-triggered version including a customizable notifications screen, customizable Action Intents and performance metrics. Go to developer.xtify.com to register and download the SDK.

Feel free to reach out via email with questions.

Cheers,

Josh
