How about voice web browser plugin? So I can listen to the web RSS resources or topic news while driving...

With a Text2Speech-Library this would be kinda easy (at least for RSS-feeds)

Nice idea.

There is a text2speech lib, so just create your own rss read, and you have an awsome application

The thing is how often have you used text recognition? I have it built into my old phone, into the navigation system, into some pc apps but I haven't really used it. I don't know if it will ever be used.

William is talking about text2speech, not speech recognition.

Thank you all guys above.
As I know, text2speech always sounds unnatural, and the maturity for voice recognition is even worse. What I really mean is that the demand of listening to the web while moving, especially driving, does exists...

Ah ok just misunderstood that. It is right that text2speech could be very interesting if it is nicely done. But I haven't seen a system that surprised me with a fluent spoken voice. :-)

But sure I'm open for new developements in that area. Are there some apps for testing that do text2speech very good?
