view permissions

Postby warpedlogic » Mon Nov 29, 2010 11:49 pm

Hey all,

I've got this idea for an app and I just can't find the correct package to read to do what I want. The idea is simple: read the permissions for every installed application and display all apps for a certain permission. What is the package to call for this? If there's no package, then how do I parse the packages.xml file for the data I need?

Thanks!

I think you can get some ideas from here,

http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/security/security.html

Thanks,

This is a great app idea. Especially enlightening for those who may be Android fans, but suddenly come to realize how little privacy there is left in their lives :D

Thanks, but that doc didn't help...it's basically showing how to set permissions and use them, not query what apps are using them.

bah...frustrating! :?
