Hey Guys,

I currently run a transaction platform with a company called G6 Media and I wanted the feedback of the community. We mainly specialize in helping developers monetize virtual currency through mobile payments, direct credit card, Pay-per-Install, and Offers.

As a community, I just wanted to know what you guys preferred or thought was really important in your monetization platform. As a developer myself, I used to struggled with methods of trying to monetize my app and i've tried to address them. I'm scared I missed something and I really want to really make an easy integration transaction platform for all developers out there.

Mobile monetization is both a science and an art.

I'd say the biggest tip is to try to see where the market is going, instead of playing catch-up with where it is.

A perfect example: Scoreloop went with the virtual currency route very early, knowing that freemium would become more widely adopted in the future. It paid off. We're currently the leading cross-platform social environment / freemium driver for mobile games.

The software world moves very fast. Something I think may end up becoming interesting in the future is this "pay later" mechanism (Facebook is tinkering with it). This may end up becoming the norm for micro-transactions in a few years time. Definitely something that serious players should consider looking at.

It's mostly play-it-by-ear. The biggest advice I can give is to stay in constant contact with as many developers as possible and try to get a feel for where the industry is headed...and then get there first.

Truth be told, I'm actually developing a game of my own in my (rare) free time. It's great to stay in touch with the community not only for my job, but for my hobbies.

Droidcon was really good! Gutted we didn't get to do the world record attempt though, yeah I think I did speak to some, although can't remember any names I spoke to a fair few people! Even asked at a question to the google guys at the Q&A, they'll be releasing the video's for all the sessions soon so can't wait for that as there where some that clashed that I wanted to see!
