I've been playing with Android for about a week now and I definitely miss a GridBagLayout view that would mimic the Swing based one. The TableLayout view offers similar functionality, but without the spaning rows/columns which is a major shortcoming. I might eventually write one myself, but if anyone else wants to grab it and run with it feel free to.

Sorry, thats simply not true. Ever tried to use android:layout_span?!
