This is only an idea...
Benchmark for CPU, graphic, ROM and RAM testing.
When Android phones will be released, application helps to test horsepower of Android devices.
But who will code it? :D

Could you even reliably benchmark that sort of thing from Java? Perhaps best to wait until there's JNI support, if they're adding that.
