I was wondering if any of you have a code snippet for a speedometer using the accelerometer?

i'm trying to create a speedometer for a while now but i can't get it to work.

I am aware of the fact that you need acceleration for this this work properly.
it would be used starting from a stand still and only untill a surten checkpoint of acceleration is reached.

I too have to work on a speedometer but reading in internet i found that using GPS start and end coordinates over time you can depict speed with an accuracy of 1 kmh... so no need of accelerometer.

if i find a solution I'll post it

Wouldn't it be very exact if you somehow measured a short period of time and the distance traveled in that time?

Like use 10 seconds and if 10 Km was passed in those 10 seconds you could report that 60 kmph is the speed. I guess it wouldn't really be a speedometer as much as a cruising speedometer... but

I have no idea about how the gps works, but if it reads within 1 meter of accuracy you could even go down to tenths of a second and just do the math to convert it "per hour".
