Flattr

Postby plusminus » Tue May 18, 2010 9:41 am

Hello Community,

recently I stumbled over a new service called Flattr (https://www.flattr.com). Basically it is pretty much like the "I Like"-Button from Facebook with a integrated Micropayment service.

This video explains very well how it works.

So the idea is that you can show you appreciation for others who posted a good tutorial or a helpful answer, but flattering them. So you can encourage them to post even more tutorials and more even better anwers.

Think about it :)

As you can see at the top of this post :uarrow: :uarrow: :uarrow: I enabled users of this forum, to have such a Flattr-Button at every post (even historical ones), simply go to your User Control Panel and scroll down in the Profile-tab.

The service is currently invite only, but I have a couple of invite-codes left :)

Best Regards,
Nicolas

I recently posted a thread in the General forum, telling that I have written a tutorial that describes how you can create your own flattr button that can be included in an android application. Realized that it actually might fit better in this thread, and I hope I am not spamming the forum with multiple posts right now. I think there are quite a few developers that would be interested in including something like this in their applications, especially as paid apps not are supported in any more than a few countries yet.

If you are interested in including your own button in an application, take a look at:
http://www.dafer45.com/android/for_deve ... ation.html

I do also have an example application and a tutorial about how it is written that you find at:

Flattr is now in public beta, so an invitation is no longer needed. Just visit https://flattr.com and sign up for an account.
