Need some good books on Android development.

Postby SolidSora » Mon Oct 18, 2010 5:36 am

Is there a good book on how to develop games or apps in Android that talk about using the accelerometer for motion and touchscreen features. I just got through Hello, Android by Ed Burnette which was a great book for beginners, I really learned some good stuff through it. Now I would like some recommendations of more advanced android features.

I learned some stuff from this book, but I think it's a bit hard to understand without any previous knowledge so I think you should check the android developer site (http://developer.android.com) first.

Yes I'd always recommend the Android Developer Site

If you need any other help on OO and Java, I can't recommend more: 'Java in Two Semesters' Amazon - Java in Two Semesters it's such a good book with all the basic's covered! (3/4's of what post's on this forum are about!!)

What general background do I need to have before reading even the first books like Android-for-dummies or smth like that? Do I need the knowledge of Java first?
