animation at the menu

Hi, this is my first post to the forum so pardon me if this post doesnt belong here

I am a newbie in android, i have done some basic ui up to now but I thought of doing something fancier so I would like to ask how animated menus are doable in android? where should i start from and what approach to follow? Thank you.
