Scale problem with canvas

hello together,

i have some bitmaps in hdpi format and i draw these bitmaps with canvas.drawBitmap(bitmap, x, y, null) on my screen. this works fine for a 800 x 480 pixel screen resolution. if i have a bigger screen resolution (1280 x 768 pixel), the bitmaps still drew with their original size. whats the best performing solution to autoscale the bitmaps / canvas? Should i use the 800 x 480 pixel screen resolution as 100% and calculate the scale factor manually?
