Pixelated Graphics!

Postby DaveMcB » Tue Jun 07, 2011 12:30 am

Howdy!

Was looking for some help on a method of constructing art that can be scaled to different android screen sizes without look pixelated.

I been working at 480x320 to help compatibility with small screen phones but when stretched to a phone with display of 800x480 its looks really pants!

I have looked at the images from the Replica Island game (as it seems to have a way round this problem), but really don't see what ive done thats so different?

Any words, lines or advice you could give me would be a great help!

Thanks!

AFAIK, there are two "recommended by Google" ways:
1. Draw separate graphics(one for 480*320 screens(mdpi), another - 800*480(hdpi)) and put them into respective folders(drawable-mdpi and drawable-hdpi)
2. Use 9-patch drawables where available(in case of pattern images)
