"Professional" Android UI's

Postby Op27no2 » Tue Mar 06, 2012 4:09 am

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could point me to a resource on how to make a more "professional" looking android ui
Or maybe just an explanation. I am new to this, so I may just be missing something obvious.

I understand the basics of the layouts, but most of the tutorials I see use standard android black and white lists, standard buttons, etc. When I'm done with the tutorials I can make some noobish looking apps and can change them a little with xml.

A good example of what I am aiming for would be the weatherchannel app. I can see it appears to be made of these elements which I am gaining a grasp on, but everything is prettier, blue, contoured, etc.

How do I go about assembling custom buttons, list views, etc., into a good looking app? I assume these are all images being manipulated?

Thanks!
